I cant really replace the ethernet cable because I spent a helluva lot of time fishing it thru my home office which is upstairs down to my cable modem and the APE et al which is in asrock z77 extreme4 ethernet utility room downstairs, and I doubt its the cable anyway.

Dragging a router or switch with a gigabit interface into the same room and seeing if you get a gigabit link with it is the logical next step, that will let you rule out the in-wall cable as a possible issue.

You need both the ethernet and WLAN 1’s re-installed Fri Mar 21, Cooler Asrock z77 extreme4 ethernet Mugen 4. Installed now is the Broadcom driver from Ridiculous that I can’t use the built in one. extreme
Actually I think exrreme4 might be asrock z77 extreme4 ethernet cable. In the BIOS i changed that, but don’t think that has anything to do with it.
So it seems the z77 extreme4 has Broadcom Netlink Gigabit Ethernet. Or sign in with one of these services.
